In our celebration of our 5th anniversary, we want to highlight the work of our two remaining founding members. Paula Little and Deborah Bernhardt are our featured artists of the month.

Paula Little

Paula Little

Paula Little was born in California.  After starting and developing her own hand painted clothing business she decided to try a different path in midlife.  She met her new partner in life, Frank LaLumia, and moved to the Southwest, and then later to Trinidad.  They live in the country with beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristos, providing subject matter for her work.

Deborah Bernhardt

Deborah Bernhardt

Deborah Bernhardt was born in Denver, Colorado.  She grew up as an Air Force brat, living all around the country.  She graduated from CSU in 1972 with a BA in ceramics and a minor in art history, obtaining a K-12 Teaching Certificate.  She moved to the Trinidad are in 1976, where she designed a pottery studio for TSJC and taught pottery classes.  She has also taught clay classes for College for Kids and Upward Bound.  She did a lot of work with Glenn Aultman and the Aultman Photographic Collection and then with the Aultman Museum.  She has worked with the A R Mitchell Museum and the Trinidad Art Council.

Deborah has had a producing pottery studio since 1977.  She has now branched out to new media, including painting with water color for several years.
